Cub Scout Pack 6 has operated continuously since 1947, providing the youth of Van Alstyne with opportunities for outdoor activities, projects, sports, academics and more in a fun and exciting program that prepares youth to make ethical and moral choices.
Cub Scouts is great for all kids who are entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. In 5th grade, they transition to a Scouts BSA Troop (here in VA, that’s usually Troop 44 or Girl Troop 44).
Welcome to Fierce Motions in Dance. You have taken the first steps in giving your child great memories and a wonderful experience. Through the world of dance, your child can express her/his creativity and talent while making beautiful memories and lasting friendships. Fierce Motions in Dance is a friendly, professional dance facility that excels in offering top-notch instruction in ballet, tap, jazz, acro, hip-hop, lyrical, and pointe¹. Classes are available for all ages, advanced and novice, competitive and non-competitive. In addition, the studio invites outside artists and performance troupes to present workshops on dance to offer well-rounded and diverse lessons for the dancers.
Owner ensures the dancers remain disciplined in their instruction while having fun at the same time. In addition, the dancers learn the importance of appearance, not just in dance but also in their daily lives.
Our students will have many opportunities to attend competitions, as well as take part in their community by performing at local events, fairs, and hometown parades!
From diaper cakes to wooden playhouses and a whole lot in between, Play Love Learn offers a hand-picked and home-tested range of unique toys and gifts for special occasions and the everyday. We work with multiple smaller US-designed & made family-owned companies whose products aren't on Amazon/Target, as well as larger eco-conscious brands. As well as seasonal fun gifts, we aim to have toys that stand the test of time and allow the creativity of little ones to develop, meaning the same toys get used in different ways time and time again.

ABOUT US
Rogers Martial Arts is a family-owned business in Van Alstyne, Texas. Classes are offered starting with Little Kickers (ages 3-5), all the way up to adults.
Brant Rogers trained in Fort Worth in the 1980s under Grand Master Richard Morris, beginning at 12 years old. Mr. Rogers earned his black belt in the American Karate system founded by J. Pat Burleson, the first U.S. karate champion. After teaching in Fort Worth for many years, Mr. Rogers moved to Plano, and in 2001, he started teaching at the Texas Karate Institute.
In 2019, Brant, his wife, Julie, their two sons, and their daughter moved to Van Alstyne, Texas. He began teaching classes to our small North Texas community in 2020.
In addition to karate, Mr. Rogers teaches a self-defense and cardio kickboxing class for teens and adults.
Mr. Rogers is a certified W.A.K.O kickboxing judge.

Character Building Since 1913
Troop 44 has been in existence for 110 years, serving the community of Van Alstyne. It is the 3rd oldest troop in the state of Texas and 5th oldest troop in the nation. Our boys in the Troop range in age from 11 to 18. The First United Methodist Church currently sponsors the Troop, and they have been our sponsor for the longest number of years since we became a Troop. The Troop is a boy-run organization and is under the authority of our patrol leaders' council. We strive to live by the Scout Oath and the 12 points of the Scout Law. We believe in service to God, country, and family. We meet once a week on Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and try to have at least one outing per month. This outing is usually an event that lets us practice what we have learned from that month's theme. The boys advance in rank at their own pace and have the opportunity to learn about a new hobby or trade by earning merit badges in a particular field of interest. We live by the saying, “Scouting is a game with a purpose."

Since 2005, the mission of the non-profit Van Alstyne Sports Authority (VASA) organization has been to teach and develop the youth of our community through a fun, competitive team environment.
VASA is a premier youth sports organization in Grayson county structured for boys and girls - ages 3 to 14 years old - serving the communities surrounding the city of Van Alstyne, Texas.
VASA is committed to reinforcing important life-long values and building up the character of our youth through teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship, cooperation, self-discipline, self-confidence, individual responsibility and respect for others.
Please remember that everyone involved in operating the Van Alstyne Sports Authority organization is a volunteer. Volunteers include parents, coaches, league commissioners, and voting/non-voting board members.
